About the Doctors

Ned M. Reinstein, M.D., F.A.C.S.

After completing 9 years of medical training in New York City, Dr. Reinstein served for 2 years as Chief of Ophthalmology at the Minot Regional Air Force Hospital in North Dakota. He established his practice in Tulsa in 1973, and helped found the Tulsa Eye Clinic, Northeast Oklahoma's first multispecialty Eye Clinic in 1981. He served as Medical Director of the Oklahoma Lions Eye Bank from 1995-1998. He has been an Associate Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Oklahoma for the past 30 years.

Dr. Reinstein has been performing refractive surgery since 1969, and has extensive experience in LASIK, PRK, RK and astigmatism surgery. He was the first surgeon in Oklahoma to perform ALK (a forerunner to LASIK) in 1991.

Dr. Reinstein has been an innovator in cataract surgery since 1974, when he was the first M.D. in northeast Oklahoma to implant an intraocular lens. He helped introduce "no-stitch" cataract surgery to Oklahoma in 1990, was the first surgeon in the area to adopt topical ("no needle") anesthesia for cataract surgery, and was the first surgeon in Oklahoma certified to implant the new "Array" multifocal intraocular lens.

By continuing his education through annual post-graduate training courses, Dr. Reinstein has maintained his ability to offer his patients the latest in 'state-of-the-art' care. He received the American Academy of Ophthalmology Honors Award for teaching in 1984, and is the recent recipient of the Senior Achievement Award.

Dr. Reinstein is personally involved in all aspects of patient care, from pre-operative counselling and examination through surgery and post-operative care.
